SKYPOD® SYSTEM IS A NEW ERA IN WAREHOUSE PROCESSES
Exotec's flagship product is the Skypod® system, a revolutionary solution that uses robots to move goods between racks and ergonomic picking stations. In addition to high storage density, the system also maximizes the use of warehouse space by using racks with a maximum height of 12 m, which is a significant advantage compared to cubic systems that only provide up to 6 m in height. Skypod® increases warehouse throughput by up to five times compared to manual work, and this is due to the availability of each container and the speed of the robot, which allows each SKU to be delivered to the employee at the picking station in a maximum of two minutes, even the most remote one located in the upper parts of the system. This fully modular system allows for quick implementation, which for an average-sized investment takes only about four months. It also allows for easy expansion by adding robots, stations or racks without interrupting production. An additional advantage of the Skypod® system is the possibility of renting robots for periods of increased warehouse work. After an in-depth analysis, ILS ( Inter Cars SA capital group ) decided to choose Skypod® technology from Exotec. The project at the ILS European Logistics and Development Center in Zakroczym includes the installation and integration of the Skypod® system, providing for approximately 60,000 containers and 200 autonomous robots. The investment is planned to be completed at the beginning of the third quarter of 2024.
